The Royal British Legion Guernsey

We are here to support you!

The Royal British Legion is here on Guernsey to help members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, veterans and their families. Our support starts after one day of service and continues through life, long after service is over.

I am not one to wish my life away - that would be foolish, as an OAP - but I do love and look forward to the first Saturday of every month at Les Rocquettes! It is a real sacrifice for me, as a morning-averse individual, to get to Les R for 08.00hrs on a Saturday morning, especially when I rise at the gruesome hour of 06.30hrs the rest of the week.

Trust me: it’s worth it! There is always a very warm welcome from
the hotel staff and the irresistible offer of good company with a great breakfast.

Its very important that the service families know that people care for them.
That’s what the Royal British Legion does.

It walks alongside them offering care and support through life’s ebbs and flows.
Wherever you go the RBL goes with you.

Rev. David Knight, Chaplain to the Guernsey Armed Forces Community and Alderney Branch of the Royal British Legion.

75 years have passed since I began National Service with the Hussars and Lancers and as a reservist with The Glosters . It prepared me wonderfully for the priesthood. Old soldiers at St Stephen's introduced me to the Banter Breakfasts for less than £5 at the Rocquettes . I passed the news to a fellow priest and naval friend . Marc Trickey . He loved them ; particularly the monthly indulgence of fried bread . Rise and Shine to enjoy a warm welcome and the friendship.

The Reverend Leslie Craske

Life can change in so many ways, some good some bad. This testimonial is my Thank You to the Royal British Legion for the help they provide during my time of hardship and to share the positives, that no matter how hard things get, there are organisations who can give support, hope and a chance to recover.
